Ashley Holland
Hi there! I am Ashley Holland, an Intake Specialist at Holcomb Law and a proud Chicago native. I will be celebrating a major milestone in May 2025 when I graduate from Hampton University- Go Pirates!
But my greatest joy? Being a mom to my beautiful daughter, Autumn Dior. She’s my world, and together, we make the most of every moment whether we’re cooking up something delicious, getting creative with arts and crafts, or packing our bags for our next adventure.
I believe that the best and most beautiful things in life aren’t just seen or touched- they are felt with the heart. (Helen Keller said it best!) I am all about making meaningful connections, embracing new experiences, and living life with purpose.
Looking forward to connecting with you!
Carly Walker
Hello! I’m Carly Walker, Executive Assistant at Holcomb Law. I am grateful for the experiences that have led me here, and I’m excited to contribute my skills and wisdom to this amazing team.
I grew up in Northern Virginia, where I raised and homeschooled my four children – Micaela, Amanda, Jacob, and Liam – who are now successful adults; three of whom are active-duty military. I decided to make the Hampton Roads area my ‘home base’ to be closer to my daughter and my two granddaughters.
Besides spending quality time with my family, I enjoy an active lifestyle of doing anything outdoors, including paddleboarding, kayak-fishing, biking, golfing, playing soccer, hiking or just beachin’ it, with a good book, of course!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Turns out, as much of an introvert as I think I am, I really love connecting with people, and I am so glad to be back to doing what I love.
When I’m not at work, I’m taking care of my amazing son, Memphis! He is a total boy, so he’s constantly keeping me on my toes outdoors, whether it’s to baseball games, or to Busch Gardens to ride roller coasters! I also enjoy capturing family memories as a photographer in my free time.
Erika Beneke

I am a trained opera singer (lyric/coloratura soprano), and in my free time I enjoy playing the piano, writing, and spending time with my cat, Mozart.

Over the past few years, I have gained experience working at several law firms on the Peninsula, and I am incredibly enthusiastic about expanding my knowledge of the law. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy freelancing as a makeup artist, actively participating in my church, spending quality time with my family, and having regular sushi date nights with my wonderful husband, Kenneth, to whom I have been married for over fifteen years.
A motto that I live by is, “Life shrinks or expands according to one’s courage” – Anais Nin. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11.

I am a native of Hampton and currently live in Newport News. I have been married to my husband, Wade, for over 25 years. I have 3 children (Ethan, Evan and Leah), 2 rescue dogs (Lucy and Waya), and 2 cats (Jasper and Toby).
In my spare time, I enjoy camping, scrapbooking – and crafts of all kinds, kayaking, reading, and listening to music.
Emily Shagen

I am originally from Kent Island, Maryland, where I was born and raised until heading off to college. Craving a change of scenery, I traded the beaches and the bay to the mountains and attended Frostburg State University. I graduated in 2025 with a double major in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies, along with minors in Philosophy, Sociology, Political Science, and Women’s Studies.
I left the mountains and returned to coastal life, this time in Virginia with my fiancé. I enjoy staying busy, whether I’m at home with my fiancé and our two cats, Captain and Koda, or out exploring new places and trying new restaurants. On Sundays, however, you can almost always find me on the couch cheering for the Eagles.
My grandfather always told me, “People before you have done it, people after you are going to do it—there’s no reason why you can’t do it.” His advice has stuck with me and continues to inspire my work ethic and determination. I’m excited for what the future holds here at Holcomb Law and one day I aspire to attend law school.

Life is full and joyful outside of work—I’m a proud mom to three boys and have been happily married to my soulmate for 25 years. I cherish time with my three grandchildren, love staying active, getting lost in a good book, and cheering on football, car shows, and NASCAR with my husband.
Excited to be part of this team and looking forward to what’s ahead!

I grew up in York County and graduated from York High School. I recently moved to Poquoson. I have two adult children (one out of college and one in college). I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going for walks, to the beach, listening to music of all genres, and binge-watching shows on Netflix, Hulu or wherever I can find a good show. I am happy to be a member of the Holcomb Law Team.

Outside of work, I love to travel and sightsee.
My favorite Quote is , “You can’t go wrong by doing the right thing.”
I look forward to hearing from you here at Holcomb Law where we all Matter.

When I’m not at work, you’ll find me lost in a good book, soaking up the sun at the beach, or hanging out with my Australian Shepherd, Samson — my energetic little mischief-maker who keeps life fun and unpredictable.
